EMCAM 2016 - Sharing good practice
Ethnic Minority Cancer Awareness Month (EMCAM), previously Ethnic Minority Cancer Awareness Week (EMCAW), is when we can all come together to raise awareness of cancer within ethnic minority communities in Britain, taking place in July.
This year, we would like to use the month to encourage organisations and service providers to consider how their services and activities engage with the BME community. It is an opportunity to reflect on what is being done to raise awareness of cancer, prevention, early detection, diagnosis and cancer services amongst these groups who, for many cancers, experience higher incidence and poorer outcomes.
Throughout the month, we hope that organisations and groups will share examples of good practice, as well as discuss areas for development, towards improving provision and access to information and services for BME communities and, ultimately, saving lives.
Help us share good practice this month by sharing your examples and ideas on Twitter @CancerEquality, #EMCAM.
